In case you missed it in the Percy Jackson ads, which made it pretty well known to everyone, this weekend is President's Day weekend - so, what does that mean? To most a day off from school or work, but for the movie industry it is essentially a fourth day for people to go see their film. With that, three heavyweight, highly publicized flicks are hitting theaters this long weekend - and we've got a trailer and preview for each one after the jump...
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
Starring: Logan Lerman, Alexandria, Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson
Our take: While none of the big three are super well-known going into this movie, that could change fast, if this film has Potteresque take-off, which by the way is a very real possibility. Plus, Lerman may be heading to an already established franchise pretty soon, as he is rumored to be one of the final three to play Peter Parker in the Spiderman relaunch. He was also featured in USA Today just this morning and you can read that here.
Valentine' Day
Starring: Everybody (no really!) Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Hector Elizondo, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, George Lopez, Shirley MacLaine, Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts, Taylor Swift
Our Take: We don't know if it's any good, but you can't say there isn't something for everyone in this flick - so many actors and actresses in mini, intertwined stories. It should be interesting to see how this flick does, apparently the studio liked it, as they already have a sequel in the pipeline revolving around New Years Eve.
The Wolfman
Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt
Our Take: Honestly, looks kinda scary - not as spooky as next week's Shutter Island, but nonetheless - we're thinking this will be the President's Day Weekend bust of 2010.
Our Pick: We'' see anything ... that isn't The Wolfman
