It's really unbelievable, that it has been one year since the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, passed away. It's probably because he has stayed in the news just as much in death, as in life. Death has made Michael Jackson an even bigger celebrity, if that was possible. We'll admit, we know Michael's catalog better now than when he was alive, it might be our age as we just missed his biggest days. We've also learned so many other fascinating details, not that we really needed to know most of them - even though it is good to know Bubbles the chimp continues to live happily. Michael sold an enormous amount of music, for weeks after his passing, many of the songs in the iTunes top 100 were his. The concert show he was about to present to the masses in London became a hit movie. The Jackson family has re-emerged, many having had moved on to a more private life after an ever-so public upbringing. We saw Michael's kids - without masks, we've heard them talk about their father at the Grammy’s, we watched them cry at the memorial service; that unordinary memorial service, one that truly was only fit for a king. The tributes have been endless, clearly the mark Michael Jackson left on the world will be endless also. We remember last June, 25. We were on twitter and all of a sudden it began to explode with news that MJ had been rushed to the hospital, next we heard he was in a coma. As crowds began to gather outside Cedar Sinai, we learned he had passed. Those held outside the hospital, continued late into the night, until Michael’s body was flown by helicopter over the city of Los Angeles, for the first of many goodbyes. It was a story every station covered non-stop from network news to the around the clock cable channels coverage to entertainment channels like E! and MTV. The next morning you couldn’t find a station on the radio dial that wasn’t playing all-Michael all the time. The death of Michael Jackson will go down as one of those moments you will always remember where you were when you heard – we sure remember. While there may still be a lot of questions surrounding why Michael Jackson died a year ago today, talk about that tomorrow. Today is the time to look back on his life, all the good things he did in his time on Earth, all the many people whose lives he touched.
