Who Should Replace Simon Cowell?

Simon Cowell has judged his last performance on American Idol and now that Lee DeWyze has been crowned season 9 champ and is headed to DisneyWorld, the focus turns to the question of who will replace Simon? After the jump, we have gathered some names who have been mentioned and our opinion on whether or not they would be good for the show.

Elton John
He would never do it, and in our opinion that's a good thing, we just couldn't picture that working, he might be a legend - just a not a relevant one.

Sean "Puff Daddy, P Diddy, We Missin' anything?" Combs
If P Diddy came aboard, the judges would be dumping the red Coca-Cola cups and instead be drinking out of Ciroc glasses. It could happen P. Diddy has started a few groups and is now everywhere promoting his latest protege, Janele Monae.

Jamie Foxx
He's a musician and an actor, a true entertainer. Jamie's got a lot to bring to the table, plus he can bring some attitude, but Jamie has a pretty good career we don't see him putting it aside to do Idol every week, even though he has been the only star to mentor each of the last two seasons.

Harry Connick Jr.
He was great on Idol a few weeks back, plus he was the first ever guest mentor to arrange the songs for the contestants, maybe like the X-Factor we'll see more Judge-Contestant interaction in the future. Plus, Harry and Ellen seem perfect together (obviously not in that way!) The only thing is he would lack in the snarkiness category.

Jimmy Lovine
He would be a great choice, but are the producers going to go for a bigger name and try to make a splash in hopes of drawing viewers back?

Tommy Mottola
If they're thinking of sticking to another executive to take Simon's seat, chances are this would be the guy - but we're thinking they may go with a bigger name. If they picked him it would almost be too much like actually trying to replace Simon rather than picking someone new and fresh.

HELL NO!

Gene Simmons

We might have found the one, he clearly knows music, and unlike Simon has that musician experience. He certainly can be mean, and he was pretty good back when he guest judged in 2005.
