Week one = Horrendous, Week two = Lights-out-good, week three balanced it all out. Now, with three performances under each contestant's belt we're beginning to get a real good feel of who might have a shot to win it this year, and what we found are there are 3 girls and 1 guy who (in our opinion) have a legit shot at bringing home the title in 83 days time.
So, you want to know who our big 4 are? You'll have to wait until next Tuesday's first inter-sex power rankings. One thing we will tell you tonight are those who have no chance of winning and will be able to consider their idol journey a victory if they make it through tonight's elimination show. Find out who we think should be worried tonight after the jump.
The Guys:
Aaron Kelley
We hate to say it, but Aaron - you're a goner. As we've been sayin for the past three weeks - the kid really does have a good voice, but to use one of the judges favorite lines (though they have yet to use it on this kid) "You're just not ready, you need another year or two."
Todrick Hall
We can only hope we're right on this one. Todrick is just what he has always been, and exactly what Simon called him last night, a broadway performer - and while there is nothing wrong with that, he's not going to be the next American Idol. It all feels fake - the performances, the outfits, the cheesey personality. This spot will probably come down to Todrick and Andrew, and at the end of the day Andrew has far more potential than Todrick.
The Girls:
We're not sure what the judges (or apparently America) have been seeing in Paige all along. This is the third straight week we've listed Paige as one of the two girls to get the boot, and if she doesn't leave us tonight we'd be utterly shocked.
Katie Stevens
It's a toss-up here between Katie Stevens and Lacey Brown. This one could most certainly go either way but we're thinking it'll be Katie saying good-bye tonight. Neither girl has wowed anyone, but we're guessing Lacey has built a little more of a fanbase and that might be just enough to keep her around one more week.
Also in danger: While we believe it will be the four above going home, here's who else should be worried going into Thursday night's show:
Lacey Brown
Katelyn Epperley
Andrew Garcia
Didi Benami (Maybe???)
AI airs tonight on FOX at 8/7c, and the hour-long results show will feature performances from two of last year's finalists, Scott MacIntyre, who just released his first album on Tuesday, as well as Matt Giraud.
Who do you think is going home? Do you agree with our picks or not? What did you think of week 3? Do you see a star in the group right now? Let us know in the comment section below, by e-mail: EntUpdates@gmail.com, or by tweeting us @EntUpdates.
