American Idol ... Who's Going Home?

Well that was a little better, wouldn't you say? After the worst first week of live performances in memory, week two was quite an improvement. The front-runners are starting to emerge from the pack, as are the weakest singers remaining.

While we feel there is only one lock who is definitely going home this week (unless natural forces save him) we have a pretty good idea of who the other three joining him will be. Take a look at our picks after the jump.

The Guys:

Jermaine Sellers

He has a less-than-great attitude, a less-than-great voice, and if he makes it through this week we'll know for certain that there is a god!

John Park

As much as we wish we could predict Tim Urban or Todrick Hall as the other guy going home this week - we just don't see it happening. We liked John all along, we still do. Unfortunately, he hasn't given America a whole lot to vote for. He has had two bad song choices, we hope he gets a third chance, but unless Shania Twain was up all night dialing, we doubt he'll get that chance.

The Girls:

Paige Miles
We barely remember her performance last night, and that's a problem. While a number of contestants are starting to separate themselves and make themselves memorable Paige has yet to do anything close to that. Considering the number of strong performances last night, we have a hard time believing she'll be back for another week.

Didi Benami

We're going with Didi in this week's Tyler "You're not going to win, but you shouldn't be going home this early" Grady spot. Didi butchered an American classic, and just may have gotten lost in the shuffle when viewers headed to the phones after a pretty good girl's night on Wednesday.

Also in danger: While we believe it will be the four above going home, here's who else should be worried going into Thursday night's show:

  • Tim Urban

  • Todrick Hall

  • Lacey Brown

  • Haeley Vaughn

AI airs tonight on FOX at 8/7c, and the hour-long results show will feature a performance from last year's third-place finisher, Danny Gokey, who released his debut album earlier this week.
