Finally, we are here!
We have made it to the top 12, and as always, not everyone is happy. Yes, Alex Lamberthad some weird charm which would have wore off in a few weeks anyways. Katelyn Epperley had one pretty good performance, and two totally forgettable ones. Todrick Hall was the one (we predicted right) everyone was happy to see leave. The one person who did leave far too soon - Lilly Scott. Lilly would have been in our top 4 "elite" group of singers, instead that group is down to three this week. Looking ahead now, with that being said, alex, lilly and Katelyn should all be here in the top tweleve singers this week. Instead, we have without a doubt, the weakest top tweleve, since we think the show's inaugural first season.
So, here we go, there is an irregular amount of bad singers in this year's top 12, but there are as always a few shining spots. After the jump, check out our first uni-sex rankings of the season.
Here they are ranked from worst, to best and believe us, there are a lot more who could fall under the "worst" category than could the "best."
12) Paige Miles
She has outlasted Lilly Scott, Katelyn Epperley, even Michelle Delamor - how? We don't see her beating anyone in this top twelve out, but we've said that the last three weeks.
11) Tim Urban
Not only did T-Urb make the top twelve, but he is not even ranked twelfth in our power rankings, that shows you what kind of season this is.
10) Lacey Brown
There was so much promise three weeks ago for Lacey, too bad it's all gone, if VFTW gets involved or little girls voting on looks, Lacey could be leaving us this week.
9) Katie Stevens
Just to hammer home my point, Katie should be watching this week's show from her livingroom in Connecticut - instead we are projecting she will make the tour, wow.
8) Didi Benami
Finally, we have reached the singers who deserve to be in the top twelve, and thanks to the overall weakness of the group, Did should go farther than she would have if she was in the competition say, last year (or the year before.)
7) Aaron Kelley
Was it that bad? Randy didn't say it was, Ellen did (of course, she was also the one who gave Tim Urban a hug after his overblown performance last week), Kara didn't make any reference to his song, and Simon told Kara she was, basically, a moron.
6) Andrew Garcia
Finally having a set theme each week may do Mr. Garcia some real good. Considering whohe's up against, ANdrew could get right back into the front-runners with a good, original-version of a 'stones classic
5) Casey James
Yes, Casey James is ranked as the fifth best singer, he has yet to do anything great, in fact he probably won't. However CJ has yet to do anything horrible (except play that electric guitar.)
4) "Big Mike" Lynche
You have to hand it to Mike, he's the one contestant who, without a doubt, has improved every week in what has otherwise been a declining season by the week (and sadly, we're just three weeks in.)
3) Crystal Bowersox
The odds-on favorite is getting a little boring, and even though one has never been a front-runner like this, we will remind you: the rocker-chick never finishes as high as they should. With that being said, we are expecting Crystal to blow the roof off Rolling Stones week.
2) Lee Dewyze
He's the hot thing right now, and despite being far and away the best guy, has been able to not get an over-abundance of publicity which puts him in a real good position right now. Plus, as we said last week, he is the idol "type", almost somewhere inbetween Kris Allen and David Cook, musically.
1) Siobhan Magnus
The girl can sing, and we think can be a little more mainstream than Crystal, maybe a little more voter-friendly as well. Plus, this girl comes out with something different every week, and she has pulled it all off so far. We don;t care wht Simon says, last week was her best performance yet.
Now, we want to know, do you agree with our rankings? Who is your favorite? Let us know in the comment section below, by e-mail: EntUpdates@gmail.com, or by tweeting us @EntUpdates.
