New Moon Taking Over the Global Box Office

New Moon, the Twilight sequel doesn't open in America for another few hours, but records are already begin smashed.

- New Moon has become the top-selling pre-released film in the history of ticket site Fandango.com, besting Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith from back in 2005. In fact, it was this past Saturday, over five days before the movie was was to be released.

- Overall, New Moon has accounted for around ninety percent of all on-line sales fro this week. Around 2,200 shows have been sold out.

- New Moon has already opened internationally in many places and the numbers coming in are staggering. On day one of the film's release in France a whopping $4.36 million were made, $2.7 million in Italy (where select scenes were shot, $2.2 million in Spain and another $1.6 million in Austrailia.

_ Like in the U.S., New Moon comes out in Britain on Friday and has reportedly made over 1 million pounds in pre-sales.
